Raising a Voice That

Empowering children and strengthen their communities

Why MECIN Tanzania?

About 3 percent of the approximately 21 million children under 18 in Tanzania are identified as vulnerable, primarily due to poverty and a lack of parental or adult care, which leads to reduced educational opportunities. Founded in 2020, Meremeta Community Initiatives aims to be a catalyst for change in the lives of these vulnerable children by enhancing their access to education.

Our Vision and Mission

Vision

Empowering children through holistic care

Mission

We empower vulnerable children to improve their wellbeing by creating conducive environment through offering care, protection, educational aids and raising awareness to the concerned communities.

Why Focusing on Vulnerable Children?

Of the many challenges faced by most vulnerable groups, children appear in particular to be suffering the consequences. It is important to support vulnerable children in order to build their resilience to overcome the range of adversities experienced from an early age. Investing in vulnerable children is not only an investment in disadvantaged individuals, families and communities; it is an investment in more resilient societies and inclusive economies.

In Tanzania, income poverty has greatly been affecting vulnerable children than the ones from rich households, which prevent many children from accessing education, to have poor school attendances and face greater risk of safety and protection than the other vulnerable groups and eventually make them failing to reach their full potentials. With the research we conducted, we found out that most vulnerable children is a population with the lowest level of wellbeing and needs a parental concern.

” Empowering communities Start with the children”.
